The Clinical Employment Service has been set up as a way to centralize the temporary placement of doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses in Community Health Centres in the Greater Toronto Area. The goals of the locum component of the Clinical Employment Service (CES) are to recruit, assess and refer locums to participating Community Health Centres. These locum positions can be for varying amounts of time, from a one-year maternity leave to vacation and holiday coverage.

This service receives requests for locum positions from individual CHCs and the Coordinator of the CES then tries to match the roster of providers with available locum positions. All potential providers need to contact the Clinical Employment Service to be assessed and added to this roster. Resumes/CVs are required for all positions. Physicians are required to email or fax copies of CMPA coverage and their Medical licence. RN(EC)s and RNs are required to send a copy of their College membership.
