6 Month Contract Position from March 28 – Sept 26, 2011 Under the supervision of the Health Promotion Coordinator, and working within the objectives of the program, the Community Dietitian will build the capacity of LAMP and the community to address food security issues, develop and implement comprehensive nutritional programs, and provide counselling to help individuals make informed decisions about healthy eating. Responsibilities: Provide nutritional assessment, planning, counselling and evaluation to individual clients. Implement and support existing food security initiatives (e.g. community garden and community kitchen). Coordinate and deliver nutrition education programs for groups of LAMP clients and community members. Provide consultation and resources for staff in existing food related programs. Skill, Knowledge and Specifications: Completion of an accredited dietetic internship or a graduate degree in community nutrition, with 3 years experience in community health Current membership in the College of Dietitians of Ontario Understanding of and sensitivity to the impact of social, economic, and cultural issues in community health Demonstrated ability to plan, facilitate, and evaluate group programs with diverse populations Evening work (1 or 2 days per week) required Please state in your application that you are applying for Community Dietitian.
